Full transcript of Lydia Cornell Interview with Dr Susan Block on The Dr. Susan Block Show:

Okay, this is Susan Block. I'm still at the Hollywood Show with Lydia Cornell. Hi, Dr. Susan. So you were telling me a very interesting story about Jack Nicholson. Oh, I was up at his house and I was dating his editor of the film Goin' South.

This is when he was with John Belushi. He and John Belushi were doing this movie and Mary Steenburgen was in it. And I think Nicholson was going through a paranoid phase. So I don't want to say too much more.

But he asked me, I was up in his living room and it was night, Saturday night, and he said, Lydia, can you boost me up to the ceiling? And I went, what are you talking about? And he goes, I hid my cigarettes from myself. I'm trying to quit smoking.

So he literally puts his feet into my hands and then I have to push his butt up while he climbed around the ceiling of his house. And Marlon Brando walked in at that moment and I think he almost fell off the ceiling. I would have.

It was a weird evening and I'm like, am I in like the carnival Cirque du Soleil, Circus Maximus or something? You weren't sure because this was before you got sober, right? Yeah, yeah, 19 years before I got sober, yeah. And this is like a Fellini movie, but it was very weird because I always loved Nicholson from Easy Rider.

Did that make you love him less chasing around for his cigarettes up in his ceiling? He was cute. He was more real. He had a normal butt. And he was just like, he was a goofball. I liked him more. And so then the doorbell rang and the scientists in white coats appeared

and they said, Mr. Nicholson, we're ready with your hydrogen powered car. And I don't know how he got off the ceiling. He was like, there's a ledge around his living room with huge vaulted ceilings. So it was on the tarmac up at Mulholland Drive and they brought out these scientists.

It was like a mystical night. I write. So I'm looking back in my memory, it was like, you know, fog, fog on the moor. And he gets in this car and he drives around Mulholland Drive at night and it was all water powered.

They were trying to get him to sign a deal to promote the hydrogen powered car and go against the oil companies. So then I looked it up online recently and I went, it did happen because he was promoting the hydrogen powered car.

Okay, well, sometimes you have to check when you're not sober whether it really did happen. I'm sober. Now you don't have to check those things so much anymore.

Yeah, so is this, did you say you'd been to the Hollywood show before? I rarely do these anymore. I did some, I did a New Jersey chiller and I did a Raycourt's Hollywood show three years ago when David took it over.

But I love these people. I love David Echoby and all the people that run the show. Yeah, yeah. And you were telling me before maybe not so much love for the porn people and the...

Oh, come on. No. You love them, but... I love the people.

I just think that we promote the wrong... I just wish it wasn't such a big industry because it's hurting young women. I mentor young teen girls and they are going crazy with having to be sex objects at 13. It's not right.

Okay, there's a lot of human sex trafficking. There's an epidemic in the world of women being kidnapped off streets in Afghanistan, Pakistan and America. Sex makes the world go round, no?

Sex makes the world go round, but love makes the world go round. Love makes the world go round. Well, love is the other side of hate. I don't know if you love some...

A lot of people that love God might love their own God which causes them to hate people that don't believe in their God. Love is almost as dangerous as sex. Love is God.

Okay. All the gods? Does that count all the gods and goddesses around the world? Love is only love, and you're right.

Sex is an expression of love, but we need to use it wisely and not just dismiss it and make it... I don't like to see jaded looks in people's eyes as if sex is just a mechanical act. It should be accompanied by some love. But you think you can make a movie, you know?

You're in the movie... I think you can make a movie with explicit sex that expresses love. You know, maybe that would be a new way to start backwards. I used to always start with sex and then try to fall in love afterwards.

But I'm looking for a new way, a more spiritual way. Metaphysical. Well... Metaphysics.

I can tell you have a beautiful spirit because the body is the temple of the spirit, and yours is beautiful. Thank you. Yours is beautiful, too. You're gorgeous.
