Yes, indeed, brothers and sisters, lovers, artists and exhibitionists, voyeurs and connoisseurs. Polyamorous and non-monogamous, alt, relationship, artists, music lovers, sideshow, appreciators, dating freaks, husbands and wives, all you children of sex, and we are all children of sex. I mean, we may or may not be children of God,
Jesus, Allah, Buddha, Brahma, or the great snake in the sky. We don't know, but we do know on a certain sort of scientific level, we are all children of sex. Can I hear an A, women? I want to welcome you to Bonoboville, the Dr. Susan Block show in the Speakeasy Cathedral, broadcasting live from Bonoboville, the garden of Eden with my
snake Eve, who's still a little bit shedding, but she loves you and she had to be with you and me, at least the way I interpret her. Movements in the cage, I want to get out and party like a Bonobo. So we're here tonight, brothers and sisters, in the heat of a Bonobo summer of love, and tonight I'm excited to talk about
relationships, non-conventional relationships. With a twist, Polly on Rye, hold the male, maybe not the KY, depending. We prefer cannabelli for lubrication, but you know, there's all different kinds of lubrication, including conversation, is definitely an important lubrication, especially when it comes to the negotiation
of all these different types of relationships. I believe one term for that is according to Ken Haslam, who did some library work at the Kinsey Institute, designer relationships. We design our relationships, which is a lot of freedom, and freedom is the greatest aphrodisiac, but restraint is a close
second. So, sometimes all of us freedom lovers love to be restrained, and sometimes we're just confused because there's so many choices. So tonight we have some experts, and I'm so excited to have a kind of Polly group here. I'm not sure how to describe the group, but I will first introduce non-monogamy
educator and alt-relationships expert, Rye Mantione. So come over to my broadcast bed, Mantione. Rye, a Rye perspective we're going to get tonight. I am doing great, a little hot, but that's a good sign. You're always a little hot.
Thank you, Rye. And they say you're a contrarian. Test, test. Or that's what it says on your Twitter. I say I'm not a contrarian.
But that's already kind of contrary. Yeah, but cute. All right, very cute. So you are an educator in regards to this wilderness of designer relationships. I've been hosting discussion groups for about the last three and a half years.
Pleasure Chest, Stock Room. Sex Positive LA. Yes. And Kinky Salons.
Yes. Yes, with our friend Polly Superstar. Yes, I'm a co-host of the new LA Kinky Salon, mostly in the fetish area of the event. The fetish area, there's like different side shows like a circus, different areas.
Yeah, Kinky Salon is a lot like a raging dance floor. Like it's a real focus on the dancing. And then over on the side, there's the fetish area. There's a cabaret at midnight.
And there's a full, very naughty room. Naughty room. And that's your room? No, I'm in the fetish area.
You're in the fetish area. Okay, which is not so naughty. Well, let's put it this way. In the naughty room, they're having sex.
Right, sex meaning intercourse. Yes. Yes. Okay, there's many different kinds of sex as we're going to discover.
I mean, we keep discovering all different kinds of sex. Do I have, I think I have a piece of Evie's, you know, do you like snakes? I do. You do?
Now, she's an older snake, but yeah, there we go. She will never hurt you, but I don't know when she pooped last. So just keep her right here and over it this way. Yes, she is an Akita corn snake.
Yeah. Doesn't she put you in a nice mood? Just writhing around your wrist there. I didn't negotiate it.
I mean, I just asked if you like snakes. I do. Yeah, there you go. I put out my hand to receive her.
Very nice. She likes you. I love the two-headed snakes at the zoo. Obsessed with those when I was a kid.
Wow. There's a lot of corn snakes that have two heads. I don't have one. I can, it's enough to deal with the one.
She's getting right into your cuff. Oh, she is. Now she's going to become your trouser snake. Wow.
All right. So Rye, you brought these beautiful ladies with you. Yes. And I would like you to kind of explain them.
Sure. Sure. I know that Wicked, a.k.a. Wicked.
Just Wicked, okay. Is a concert violinist and your girlfriend. Yes. We've been together about three and a half years, and she helps co-host my discussion
events. And we've been on quite the journey. Yes. Well, welcome to Bonoboville, Wicked.
Thank you very much. And moving right along, we're going to hear more from you, but I want to kind of introduce everybody because we have quite a bevy of beauties here starting with you.
Oh. And Nova Luxe, you know, not like the smoked salmon, okay, Luxe, not Luxe, okay. Like lights. Yes, like light, like Luxe at Veritas, my alma mater's motto.
So you are quite a light and you are a sideshow performer specializing in whipped cream wrestling. One of many things, mostly a clowny sideshow performer. Yeah.
Yeah. So, hey there. Do you have a mic or you don't even have one? Oh, yes you do.
You have one in your lap. Oh, it does work. Oh, yes. I thought that was your trouser snake for a second.
Okay. Yeah. She's been performing at the Magic Castle recently. Oh, right.
Nice. Very nice. Yes, I was. Well, welcome Nova.
Thank you. And now we have Erin. Oh, Nova is a girlfriend too. Yes.
Your girlfriend. Yes, I've been with Wicked about three and a half years and Nova and I had a first year anniversary a few months ago. Wow.
And are they girlfriends too? Are you girlfriends? No. You are friends, but not girlfriend.
This would be a V relationship with me at the pivot. But they have other relationships as well beyond me. A V relationship. Is that your design or is that a thing?
It's pretty well known. Yeah. It's not mine. I mean, you can take any letter.
It could be a W for like if you had five people involved or whatever shape. Could be a square. Could be a triangle. Could be an N.
An N. An N. So every letter of the alphabet could be a relationship, it sounds like. That sounds like a challenge.
I think so. We should try to figure out every letter. It's a geeky thing to do for you. The geek polyamorous, yeah.
Geekier would be calling it a polycule inspired by a molecule. Okay. Where each person has different. A geek would renounce the term polyamory to begin with.
Ah. Because they come from different roots. The two parts of the word come from different roots. It's a little joke.
Latin and Greek. Latin and Greek, yeah. Well, you do call yourself a non-monogamy educator. Which is kind of, you know, kind of a negative definition.
Just not monogamy. Yeah. Well, it's more open because it includes swingers. It includes open relationships.
Open relationships. It includes everything in addition to just purely polyamory, which is a specific culture within non-monogamy. And I would like to give a shout out to that old book that was
written in 1972 called Open Marriage. Which was kind of dissed in the 90s. And now it's really, you know, kind of a playbook. I mean, and it didn't even hardly mention sex, actually.
It was mostly just about communicating and just being open. And yet, you know, the paragraph that everybody talked about was the part about it. And you might be able to have sex with other people.
Maybe. Yes. And then there's dating. Which is related to sex sometimes.
And maybe not. I mean, there's all the asexual people who need to date, right? Yep. True.
Yeah. So this is Erin. Hi. Hi, everybody.
Erin, the dating advice girl. This is true. Erin Tillman, aka the dating advice girl. And we actually met.
Yes. Via Wicked's other guy. We went to dinner. Oh, yes.
That's right. The three of us went to dinner. It was supposed to be just me and him. But you tagged along.
That's right. And we've been. Lunch, lunch, and Chinatown. Yeah.
A late lunch. It's true. True story. About a year and a half ago.
And look at this now. You know? Yes. Wow.
Small incestuous world. Oh, boy. Uh-oh. They're already crossing taboos.
No, they're not. They're not related that way. But they are kind of a family. No, not really.
You're just kind of intersecting. Well, to be clear, I am not involved romantically with Rai. Right. We're colleagues.
And I've been a dating expert for eight years. Yes. And so, but I'm very curious about the non-monogamy space. And I've learned a lot from Rai and other colleagues of ours.
Well, I imagine some of your dating clients are non-monogamous. More and more. Especially in LA. But a lot of people didn't even know that was an option.
Because we grow up in a society where we're kind of taught that, oh, marriage, one person forever. And so people don't know that there's all these different things. So I try to help educate people and help them find people who also
might be into the same things they're into. Well, all right then. I think Aaron and I are far too alike to be dating. I think you're right, absolutely.
You know, it might be a little dirtier. Oh, yes. But you have better cleavage. Thank you very much.
OK. Well, we don't see yours. Your tie is hiding yours. So question, does anyone else really like reptiles?
I would love to hold the snake. Would you like to come and hold the snake before I put her away? Because I am going to put her away. Because she's kind of in a shetty mood.
Oh, a shetty mood. Yeah. Well, you know, she was a little neurotic this month. Sometimes she sheds all in a piece when all is good.
But, you know, I think she got somewhat neurotic from the heat. So she sheds in pieces. But she looks beautiful just slithering around your arms. These are the arms of a violinist holding my snake.
So beautifully holding her like she is an instrument and shouldn't the body of anyone you hold be your instrument that you play on. What's her name?
Her name is Eve. Yes. Eve. Open the garden to Eve.
Whoa. Careful. There we go. There she is.
OK. Here, let's get. OK. Yeah, you do kind of seem like you're going to play or something.
I play a lot of people. Do you serenade, rye? Once in a blue moon I do. Ah, he has to deserve it.
How did you meet? Oh, there's a story. Go ahead and tell it. Well, there was a band, an EDM band in LA.
It had about eight members in the band and they decided to have a music video shoot. And so they all invited everybody they knew to come to the music video shoot.
I knew one of the guys in the band. Rye knew a different guy in the band. The problem was that this music video shoot ended up being on Easter Sunday.
OK. And not a whole lot of people showed up. Ah. But Rye showed up and I showed up.
Easter egg hunting, yeah. And then Rye likes to take over the story after that. Take it away. Well, these eight guys in the band were,
none of them were Christians, that's for sure, and they just didn't realize it was Easter. So only about 17 people arrived. And so I realized, I want this girl
and I've got all day to talk to her. So I'm going to approach her cautiously and my very first words were, do you know if there's any more chips?
Real light at first. Yes, yes, yes. Very nice. Well, not like a bunny, even though it was Easter.
OK. But it certainly, one thing led to another. One chip led to a dip. And the next weekend was my big fucking party.
Oh, OK. I hosted the big fucking party six this year. The big fucking party. Is there a lot of fucking that goes on?
There's some. It's big. There was 700 people this year. Wow.
And a lot of them are fucking? Some of them are. Yes. It's a wide range.
It's basically like everything I love in life all in one night. Ah. It's the best night of the year for me. Awesome.
And that was the second time I'd ever seen him. Was he invited me to the party the day that we met and the second time I'd ever laid eyes on him was at the big fucking party.
The day? Well, but it was a couple weeks later. It was one week. Exactly.
OK. And did you get all dressed up sexy? I did. You know, I went to this party for the sole purpose
of deciding if I liked him or not. And did you have sex that night? It depends on what kind of sex you're talking about. Well, what did you do?
I had sex with her mouth. OK. OK. Well, there's a reason.
That's a sex. There's a reason. There's a card game that we play at the party and your goal is to get the highest card possible
and the way you get a higher card is to complete a dare given by someone who has this higher card. And so at a certain point, I decided, oh, yeah, OK.
I like him. So, and then my next thought was, I want his ace. So I told him that I wanted his ace. And so his dare for me was to give him a blow job.
Backstage. OK. Quite a dare. Clever.
Clever. So I acquiesced. Ah, acquiesced. Yes.
Nice graceful choice of words. Thank you very much. Uh-huh. And you did an arabesque of a blow job.
I guess. I gave him a blow job and then I immediately left because I wanted to keep the ace. And as she stood up to finish in my drunken stupor
at my big fucking party, I just want to let you know that I want to go on a date with you. Doesn't have to stop here. And I said, OK.
And he goes, no, seriously. Seriously. I don't do one night stands. I want to go on a date with you.
And I said, OK, I heard you. Intimacy. And then we did. At a big fucking party.
All right. And it started with chips. OK. That's what it did.
It did. Uh-huh. Into a mouth. And beautiful.
OK. And so Nova. I mean, I have to. I feel like I need to find out how you met.
Of course. You want to come up here? Make a little room. Here she is.
Whoa, don't trip over the wires. Yes. Well, although I imagine you being a clown, you know how to fall.
You're a good follower. I'm a good follower. I do it all the time. Yes.
I can imagine. I can imagine by myself. Uh-huh. How did you become a clown?
Uh, it's a long story. But my mom was a clown. Oh, OK. She runs in the family.
Yeah. But at first I refused. Yeah. I was like, you know, as a kid, it was like, it was terrible.
I would get on the bus and all the kids would make fun of me. Your mom's a clown. Yeah, pretty much. Oh, God.
They had a whole song. My mom's clown name was Marilyn Macaroni. And I'd get on the bus and they would all sing, Marilyn Macaroni.
Di-dli-dli-dli-dli-dli-dli-di full of baloney. Deep for hours. Full of baloney. Yeah.
Oh, that's the part that hurt. OK. But so I started doing children's birthday parties with her, but I would not be a clown.
I would only be Tina the ballerina. So I did that for a long time. And then in college I was like, OK, I can make more money as an actual clown instead of a ballerina.
So I'll do that I'll be a clown the first time I was ever a clown I was 18 And I remember putting the makeup on my face and being like I can't believe I'm doing this that was a couple years ago Right, it was ten years ago. Oh But and then my makeup was finished and I was like I look like my mother and it's weird
But when I start y'all all have that thing we go through I look like my mother but most of us It's not with clown face on it's true But the first time I really loved being a clown I went to Cal Arts and they have a clothing optional campus
Completely like wow how you doing with Evie here. Are you ready to give her up? Yeah. Yeah, yeah Okay, okay, so where is her cage brothers? Oh, there it is. Hey, can you bring that over? I'm yeah, that's it All right. Bye everybody. Do you want to just say goodbye? Are you afraid of reptiles? No, I love them. Oh really? Do you want to hold her for a minute? No, no, no. Okay. Okay. I don't want any timidity on my snake
Okay, and there she goes She can come out in the after-party Yes Lovely Elizabeth our producer
Biz Bonobo Yes Let's see that short skirt girl Oh
So where were we? Clowning around so the first time I ever enjoyed being a clown I decided to be like my interpretation of a sexy clown. Uh-huh. So I just was a clown I was wearing nipple pasties and a tutu but at that time in my life that was like super racy for me
I was like I'm gonna go in front of people with like nothing but like my nipples covered like at that point in my life It was like this is wild and so I did that And it was the most attractive I've ever felt in my entire life. I have you look very attractive in nipple pasties in a tutu I have a picture like that of you that you posted on your page and I just put it up on mine
So yeah nipple pasties in a tutu. Yeah, you look perfect. I mean you look great now, but honestly, yeah I mean, I'd prefer the other one. Yeah Pasties we can come up with anyway, so how did you two meet or yeah, we originally met At a house party about five years ago, but we were on dates with other people that night
We ended up slowly staying in touch for years and then we were all part of a Don't mind me. I'm just grabbing my baby cock. I feel there's a purpose for every size Anyway, as I was saying and then we were part of a theater production together and Opportunity struck for me to strike up a conversation. Oh
Nice, okay opportunity and was it about chips? Yeah, it was actually about children's parties Oh, I used to work at children's parties as well as a clown. No, I did balloon animals Okay, I did the magic bubble show. Okay, and that's actually how he got my number I see really clown stuff though, right?
Yeah, maybe because of me silly occasions at my birthday party Everyone is clowns. Okay, and I offered to teach her the secrets of doing the magic bubble show So I was leaving and he was like, hey, let me get your number for the magic bubble show Yeah, okay
Are you taking notes on this for your clients? Absolutely how to how to pick up lots of skills I'm hearing lots of skills. Right. There you go. This is all about dating come a little closer I don't know if you can get on the bed, but come into the maybe you can Should we make room? We could we could or you could come on this side here here here here
Can I bring my drink? Yeah comfy comfy. Yeah, bring your drink Soon we're gonna have Bonoboville communion and I know you're going to appreciate it because you almost became a priest Yes when you were young years ago and you're still a preacher But using a different book as you said very different doctrine very very different book
But still there's you know something similar involved. I I think the extremeness of Celebusy push the pendulum to the other side of yes a very active non-celebusy I think you might have done well as a priest in like Pope Alexander's day when there were lots of you know kind of
wives and concubines for the Pope and his top priests and you know and There was a lot of that. I mean it they also had a lot of murder in mayhem It wasn't a great time But it was you know kind of a time when there was almost poly or swinging in the Vatican. I would say yes max
No, no, I was agreeing. Yes. Actually. I lived in a little village in Italy. Yes one of the few villages that didn't have customs But it had a little port and so forth and there was a church there the local church with 24 bedrooms The local church the local church with 24 bedrooms and at night time they would bring in the liquor for the Vatican and
Other things would be brought in to fill those rooms. Yes, and so The village people would go see the lights all on and everybody's having fun and they'd go. Oh
The hookers are here Yes, yes, yes. Well, you know, there's there's sex in every culture in every Every corner of the world of some sort, you know, I mean aside from the asexuals But that's the kind of sexuality too, but certainly all these priests. I mean but the essence of that
I guess would be you know hypocrisy shame Pretending and stuff like that and I mean I'm not trying to say that that's the worst thing in the world, but hey, it's kind of cool to have a church of No hypocrisy or trying to be honest, right trying to be honest about your relationships and that I think is the essence of this church here this
Non-monogamy which isn't really a church, of course Honesty is one of the main points of being non-monogamous Successfully and ethically, but how easy is it? It's definitely a learned practice It's not something that you go in just automatically knowing how to do because religions just give up on it
They just make up stories Well, you know when you first well, I don't know when I when I first started it took it took a lot of time and a lot of different scenarios where I'm
trying really hard to say exactly what I mean and You know, I would I would sort of shy away and and go to euphemisms and and you know Like dumbed-down versions of what I was really trying to say until I eventually learned to say exactly what I meant Exactly what I wanted. It's something that you learn to do
Well, and I think a lot of people aren't really sure what they want, you know Like I said before I mean there's there's so many things We don't know that are even possible in terms of dating or relationships because we only learn one model I do some speaking at colleges and a lot of the college kids a they have like probably have never heard of real
Consent and what that means a lot of them are afraid to say no or don't really know what no means or no means Yes, there was a video recently that went viral. It was like a fraternity that was saying yes or no means anal Oh, yeah, yeah, that went on it Yale I hate to say this because it's my beloved alma mater and I might even be going to reunion
But it is so fucking, you know, like it's not it's the opposite of the big fucking party fucking embarrassing That you know that went on it Yale And I want to say that it had nothing to do with sex week at Yale Which I helped to found but sex week at Yale was blamed
But it was all about just a bunch of jocks Okay, who were drunk and and really didn't like the women's Center at Yale and thought they would be Obnoxious and of course there's a male privilege at Yale that has allowed guys like that to get away with it for
centuries so they did it and and they got a slap I guess and then Yale got slapped with some really bad press and then Kind of
Let's just say castrated sex week at Yale. Oh, really sad. Yes. Yes. It's just shame It's like I mean, you know one bad apple ruins the bunch But I mean it is a big deal and you know, especially for young kids like they they're so learning It might be the first time they're away from home and they have no idea what's happening
So, you know shame is a big part of all this It's just important that everyone's educated and has is aware of choices that they could make Yeah, yeah, and you know, of course sex week at Yale was and and maybe will still be An educational, you know week in which to learn about different types of relationships in which to learn about consent in which to
just explore all this stuff that helps you to not march in parades saying yes means no no means anal and It really does it helps you because if you don't learn not to do that You learn to do that from other places if you're a privileged young man at Yale, obviously, that's what happened
So it's it's it's sad, but I have hope I have hope for my alma mater I think we have a new president and and things will get better. Yes max. I hear you clearing your throat No, no, I'm just laughing Well anyways, so okay
So, yeah, we're all for education and and certainly when it comes to these designer relationships Yeah, you need them I mean one thing that max and I who I mean we're kind of what I like to call You know the Dan Savage word monogamish, but we were in awe of you guys having these intimate several intimate
Relationships going on because you know, we might do this and that but the intimacy. I mean, how do you? How do you schedule all that? Scheduling and jealousy are the two most common questions. We're gonna get to the jealousy. Yes, the scheduling to me is even more Challenging I practice what I call a solo poly style. Yeah, where I am extremely independent
I am not defined by my partners or my relationships I can be polyamorous as a single man or in multiple relationships or in one relationship and I live alone. I'll always live alone. I have no kids. I'll never have kids. I'm not married never been married never will be And so I literally schedule when people come over to my place or I go to theirs
They invite me to theirs. We go out to events together I think that there is a whole world of complications when Partners live together because you have to share those spaces. That's my space and I can invite anyone I want into that space You're like a the uber bachelor
Because I'm not single right right, you're definitely connected to these women. I mean, and are you so how do I mean? Do you have other boyfriends or another girlfriend or I do have another boyfriend? Okay other people I see casually and I guess he knows about right. Yeah, they all do. Okay. They all know about each other. Yeah, but they don't have sex Ryan other men. Well, Ryan your boyfriend. No, I don't know. No, not okay. We were actually friends
before they started dating true and I Help them like hey, this is you go ahead do this actually. He really helped a lot. It was the sweetest thing ever. I Was I'm like pretty shy, you know And he was like over there on the internet like sending messages like hey Nova is into you and he's like what a hell no idea
That is the nicest thing. I'm like, I just really care like it's so sweet, you know Like I was into this guy and he helped he helped it happen, which I think is super sweet. Oh Well last year. Yeah, I helped wicked with a contest Hosted on Facebook called win your first date with wicked
I don't know about this. Oh, you didn't hear about that. Oh, wow. Tell me Yeah, one There was a there was a guy who what is he from Australia or New Zealand? Yeah, I think so. Would you get a date with him? You know, I actually haven't gone on the date with him
the contest was People had to comment on the event page with their best idea for a first date with me. Oh And I like that. Yeah, and and then I got to pick whichever date was the best idea Okay, so the guy who actually won he was actually out of the country
During this contest and he was gonna be out of the country for a long time. It was an extended state and so He has recently come back to the US so that date actually is going to happen months and months and months after What was his date idea? What was it? I I have an idea. Oh
I was like a date with her all you got to do is come up with an idea Oh This idea has to win though, that's the thing it can't just be just like oh it's in a movie I've never had an unwinding idea ever. It does sound like she's open
Yeah, that that that's why I chimed in I was like this seems like a Invitation we're all open we we actively practice an open poly style as opposed to say a closed triad Which we are not is that event page still open as well It's out there somewhere
We actually picked a winner and a runner-up What does the runner-up get the runner-up was What does the runner-up get to do a date as well the runner-up yeah We were we decided that the winner could get a date and the runner-up could get a date because you know
Why not there's come up with a date why not I like the end of the show, okay? Yeah Yeah, what about the loser? The loser is still a loser the loser I guess might get ridiculed for his horrible date idea, which
That never happens that never happened. There was some very mundane date ideas Unfortunately creativity is important Definitely, I helped Nova with her previous guy as well You
Remember that yeah, you need a little advice on how to flirt with him It's strange also. I feel like The whole social media and how we communicate now and navigating all of that stuff and then me being a Submissive female who wants to be pursued but sees someone that I want like that's difficult
That's a challenge help me with that too. I like I Literally followed like step-by-step. I was like, what do I do and he told me to do and I did it and I was like, okay I did that now I do he's like no do this and I was like Seriously like that and he's like trust me
So you're an educator even with your girlfriends. Yeah, I don't know about the others with me a lot I ask him all sorts of things although it sounds like we could give you a little education at your big fucking party But yeah, so how about the jealousy? What what's the story? I mean are you jealous of each other's time on the show or are you? Jealous of each other's time with rye or what? No, but I am
There you go jealousy rears jealousy comes up Jelly jealousy comes up in in all aspects of everyone's life Whether they want to admit it or not You become jealous of lots of people. You're let's see. Does anyone not want to admit it
Does anyone want to say they're never jealous or they're just hard people out here there who do who do say that? No one on the bed I'm always surprised by my jealousy and my envy like oh where the hell did that come from what it's something so Unexpected so minor so just like it all handled just some little thing will get to me
Uh-huh like the big things usually don't bug me at all like what got to you There was a time when a good friend of mine Took wicked out to lunch and didn't run it past me and she didn't run it past me And she didn't realize it was a date till he tried to kiss her and then she realized oh shit
I'm going on a date with rye's friend And I was just like surprised that both of them didn't mention it to me And I ended up calling him out on it and I called her out on it And we all got upset and we all chilled out because it was just this minor little thing
That was it a surprise to him to your mistake was that you called her out on it You don't know that now you have to text her out on it No, it was a long all night conversation Yes, that's the conversation the art joke right there
Old school style face to face We don't we don't we don't talk in the we're horrible on the phone I have a question Question, Max
None of you are on the hacked Ashley Madison site Oh, oh right Never Now maybe the Duggars would take up Polyamory
You know we're on plenty of sites but we don't need to hide anything That's the thing like we don't need to be on Ashley Madison and hide our identities in our faces We're right out there on Okie Cupid and Tinder They don't need to hide or pay
Oh okay so there was one like really really almost terrifying Half an hour where I let rye take control of my Tinder account And let him handle it for half an hour and let him actually swipe right on people and respond to people That was like I said terrifying
Penetrating Penetrating her Tinder box Her Tinder Tinder The trouble with a man seeking a woman who is actively cheating on a site like Ashley Madison
Is that I might get face to face with a shotgun There's real violence potential I would much rather just be honest and take the risk of shame or the risk of rejection Or the risk of somebody being a little weirded out than a shotgun to the face
Well and the difference is I mean people confuse as a yes applause exactly You know people confuse Polyamory with cheating all the time Like as a mainstream I am more of a mainstream dating expert And people are always like polyamory but people don't know
And all these things I'm like no no no the difference is that with polyamory and a lot of open relationships All partners are aware of what's happening and agree with the terms of those scenarios Whereas Ashley Madison is all about cheating Like their tagline is what is it life is short have an affair
That's their tagline so it's all about secrecy with that site It's very very different Yeah you know I imagine that being humans You know sometimes there are people that cheat on polyamorous relationships
Oh yeah There was a devastating situation a friend of mine out of the state actually And they were together for years She had her husband and her boyfriend and just discovered the boyfriend's been cheating on her for years
They have a poly open relationship The main requirement is just admit it That's all he had to do was admit it So admit it how do you feel about Nova?
I think she's looking at me like that I think she's a very sweet girl and she's very patient Are you glad she's Rai's other girlfriend? Yeah there are plenty of people that I would not necessarily want to be part of you know
This part of my life via Rai You know I'm not saying I would never sit up here and say that I'm perfectly fine with anyone You know being a part of my life that's not true at all But I can definitely say that Nova is a perfectly wonderful part of my life via Rai
That's very sweet What an act to follow what are you going to say now? I think Wicked is awesome I also think that in how I put this
I think that she grounds Rai in ways that I don't And I'm like really appreciative of that You're glad she's the other part I'm glad that we're different people and we can offer different things and that affects Rai in more ways than one relationship
Does that make sense? In relationships you affect each other You inspire each other And I see that from Wicked in her inspiration for him And all of that kind of stuff
We all have many sides of ourselves And one of the things I love most about having multiple relationships Is that it brings out a different part of me And it emphasizes that part of me
Just like we have a work persona and a family persona And your best friend brings out a side of you My different girlfriends bring out different sides of me And I get to really embody that aspect
Who brought out the side of you that wanted to be a priest when you were a kid? Well, my father was hyper-religious but he certainly never encouraged Well, my whole family was very Catholic What do they think of you now?
What do they think of me? Well, some of them think that I'm just the crazy wild bachelor They don't understand any of this They just see me as a single man
Not necessarily, they just see me as the crazy guy in the family Just having a fun time Others actively dislike my lifestyle Because there is a sense that if I encourage the world
To consider all the options That maybe it will ruin some relationships And maybe I'm ruining relationships in the family And some of them just fully accept it
And they just think that as long as I'm honest and myself And everyone is in the know, then what's the problem? They're kind of indifferent Is anyone else poly in your family or non-monogamy?
I don't think so I think some of them have played around with some various forms of non-monogamy throughout their life I think people go through phases Did you grow up with a religion?
Yeah, I grew up Baptist Okay, not Southern Baptist Baptist is still pretty specific I was actually raised part of my childhood
I was raised by my grandmother Who still goes to church three times a week at least So yes, I grew up actually very religious I grew up Catholic
Okay, did you want to be a nun? No, but when I was little, Jesus was a very close imaginary friend I had talked to him all the time But yeah, my family was very religious
Did you still talk to Jesus? No Now you talk to Rai I don't know if I would care
But I guess, you know, we have the picture of the Catholic religion And for that matter, baptism What about you? What did you grow up with? I grew up a pretty open family
Actually, not open-relationship but open-minded Spiritual, not super religious And went to church on Christmas Okay
Sometimes, but now, yeah And now here you are But you guys are into not just poly But also BDSM
Absolutely Absolutely, in what way? I'm actually a pro-sub at a dungeon A pro-sub
Yeah, in LA Okay Yeah, I work at the Dominion And you are a professional submissive
Absolutely And so you get beaten by clients I do My butt's actually just now healing from a session I had a couple days ago
Oh, really? Yeah Can we see? No, there were no physical visual effects from it
But it was sore for a little while But that's just part of the job My little nickname for Wicked Because we do BDSM in our private life
And on stages as well is She's Wicked the Unmarkable I'm apparently very hard to bruise Wow
She used to, she used to bruise You know what it is? If my body's not used to it, then yes, I will bruise So I just spent a month in Italy
Where I was not being beaten And when I came back, he actually did bruise me Which was a rare occasion Naughty boy
That's your priestly inclinations Okay And you are also submissive Yes
And are you a professional submissive as well? No No, you're a professional clown But you enjoy submission in your bedroom
Yes And on stage Yes Okay, so you're a performance submissive
Yes I like your monosyllabic answers Well, I'm typically the leader And sometimes
Can you teach Donald Trump to answer questions like that? Yes, that would be better for him And the rest of us Uh-huh, yes
We're also feminists Yes, what does that mean exactly? We're strong believers in the idea that men and women are equals That they have equal value, equal worth
That's very bonobo And even though we practice a dominant and submissive role in our lives There's nothing inferior about being submissive Yes
And in fact, I'm a total pussy, compared to them I can't take what I dish Absolutely Uh-huh
It's true You seem like you have a little dom in you The way you said that, absolutely I mean, I don't know
It's always possible People are always changing, right? Well, yeah It's always possible for me to become a switch
At a certain point Yeah At the moment, I'm saying no But I'm not saying never
I'm predicting eventually I want to see you dominate that violin In a little while We're going to have some beautiful electric violin
And is it like movement music? Could we have perhaps nova art? Could you move to the music in any fashion you like? I don't expect whipped cream wrestling
Or perhaps, I don't know Whatever kind of... I'm looking to have some type of interaction With the music
So you can think about it You don't have to respond monosyllabic Yes or no answer No
No All right Very submissive Thank you
Nova That's why she's called nova Right She's a trained professional dancer
Yeah But she has to prepare It's not all improvised Oh, okay
Well, I know that Wicked is going to... Is improvising So I thought, you know Some dancers improvise
But, you know That is not... Nothing is required, actually Before we go to our break
I do want to introduce Anthony Wynne Who is over there Come on, come up here
Anthony Wynne is the great Stripparella cartoonist And he is... Can we see what you're drawing?
Oh, awesome It's awesome Actually, there's a piece By...
With Stripparella right there Oh, yeah On the left side of the stage A beautiful, really exquisite piece
We can't see it Okay, there it is There it is There's...
The only person out in here is me Idealized facsimile of myself And Stripparella And that assistant
And a bottle of Agua Speaking of which We will be doing Bonoboville communion very shortly
So, get ready And it's a little different Than Catholic communion But related
Very related How do you identify? I am studying everything I am more dominant
In my life I... You know, yeah I mean, that's the gist of it
For a second, I thought that was a Rachel Dolezal question I don't know why How do you identify? I am a black female
That is true But for real, not for fake For real, real, not for play-play Exactly
But yeah, I mean I've been learning more about Specifically the BDSM community For about the last year
And I'm intrigued by it It's interesting going back To the whole point of submissives For a long time, I didn't understand
Why someone would want to be submissive Because I don't identify as that And especially as a female, I always There's a line for me
In terms of does a woman A female identifying person Really want to be dominated by a man But the more I'm in that world, I get it
And there's definitely a feeling That I've witnessed Female submissives specifically get And actually male submissives get
And as a more dominant woman I enjoy seeing that feeling I actually struggled with similar things Myself being a submissive female
Interesting From a feminist point of view Yeah, absolutely And I am struggling to get to a break
Right now I just have one question But Max, okay, go ahead How do you guys
I mean, I run a little small company We really are running out of time Okay And how do you have all the time to do this?
I tried asking that before And they didn't answer He just said he lives alone One of the ways
Child-free, which is a big part of it Yeah, but you gotta drive here You gotta go there You gotta text people
Are you all child-free? Yes Correct Yeah
Okay, so that's part of it Is they don't have the time sucker I will say this is a lot less My polyamorous relationships have been
A lot less time consuming Than any other monogamous relationship I have Any polyamorous relationship I have Is not gonna be every day
We do everything together All the time, every day All my relationships complain about The girls complain about
Not being time consuming enough They're like, you don't spend enough time with me I mean, monogamous relationships, though I don't know if to ask them
He's the swing and bachelor Okay, so we are going to cut But I just want to Give a little shout-out to
To Ry's proposed gender-neutral term For blowjob Which is, I agree, incredibly meaningless And it is suck-lick
Suck-lick, okay I got a suck-lick last night I was suck-licked last night That guy gives good suck-lick
I want to suck-lick your clit She's one hell of a suck-licker He could have said that about you At the big fucking party
They are suck-licking me right now They, that's, yeah I'll suck-lick the fuck out of you Suck-lick my dick
What do you think? It's better than blowjob, right? There's no blowing, and it's not a job Suck-lick, I like job
No, it can be, it can be, my friend If you're doing it right, it's a lot of work We're going to come back with Controversial things and
Bonoboville communion So don't come yet, and don't go away We'll be right back Hi, I'm Dr. Susan Block

Have a lot of sex in a Bonobo sutra of positions Including face-to-face But it's not just how
Bonobos have sex It's how they use sex To prevent murder and war, really They're the only great apes
That have never been seen Killing each other They practice what I call Peace through pleasure
With the females gently dominating The very happy, very sexually satisfied males Bonobos are special, partly because They just are, and partly because
They're very, very close to us Almost 99% genetically similar to us When it comes to being human Even being humane
Bonobos can teach us so much Which brings me to us And more specifically to you Is your inner Bonobo longing to
Swing free? Would you like to tap into the hot Natural sex energy within you? Bet you would
So you can better enjoy the pleasures In life and cope with the pain You know, the pain And have more orgasmic, organic
Sustainable sex Who doesn't want that? Greater lust, greater trust And better anger management
And who couldn't use a little bit Of that these days? So get the book Learn the Bonobo Way You'll be glad you did
Then you'll want to join Bonoboville A new global village for Bonobo lovers and friends And one last thing
The real Bonobos are highly endangered So a portion of all book sales Go to Bonobo conservation groups Working to save the wild

Because it's not all genetic It's what I heard from that Sapolsky guy Who found some baboons That actually became very Bonobo
Of course, all the alpha males Were killed by tainted meat And that's what caused the rest of them To become Bonobo
But hopefully you will kill me No, not war Oh, yes We love Bonobos
In case you didn't figure it out And yes, Chuck E. Chimp Is becoming a Bonobo And yes, humans can become more
Bonobo too And part of the sex-positive movement The polyamory movement It's, you know, the new paradigm

Ah, what do you play? I'm playing a custom guitar-based combo Ah, okay Any style of music?
It's metal Metal? Yeah, it's pretty heavy shit I consider it metal with a little bit of a rock influence
Because I don't have a metal background I do have a rock background, however So I think that this is a little bit of a hybrid It's more metal than rock
But I still want to acknowledge the rock part of it And we have a lot of musicians here tonight Yeah, well, you're a musician, right? Is that what you're trying to say?
No, I, yes, we do, actually Speaking of plugs Speaking of plugs And you've got some of your fellow bandmates here

Whoo! I'm so responsive to my audience Thank you to the bar, folks How was that for you, Nova?
That was fun Yeah? Yeah Yeah
Yeah, I mean, it was an emotional thing to have a connection like that after you have Sure, I felt very accepted
Good And did she give a nice tongue? Yeah A good suck lick, or at least the lick part
Yeah, there was no sucking No sucking, no No, but the lick was really nice It was, it looked nice
Did she taste good? She tasted like salt before and after I love salt I'm a salt person, so that to me is good
Alright, so... Savory Savory, so So where were we?
We were almost at the end of the show But I want to just see what else I have to talk to you about
Yeah Oh Oh, yes Well, we appreciate how you
loved one of our recent guests and actually we love her too Janet Hardy Ethical Slut
Very important book for your development I guess One of the first books I read on the topic of ethical nominogamy
One of the Bibles of that whole movement Yes Yep And we love it
I joined her on stage recently That's right With Sex Positive, LA And UCLA
Now I saw a post that upset me Good It had the hate word
Hate And we weren't talking about Trump Who I would certainly understand We're talking about
Sex at Dawn Yes How could you hate Sex at Dawn? I have a lot of disagreement with it
Okay, okay, disagreement I think that it has Had a wonderful impact on culture And society since it came out
But I don't agree with a word in it Not a word Almost none of it I really believe that humanity
Is designed to cheat And we have to actively cultivate A culture of non-cheating But we're designed to break the rules
To be selfish, to take advantage Of others And we have to overcome that Whereas Sex at Dawn
Thinks that we're more designed For an open-minded collaboration Well, it does think It does put out the information
That a lot of science points to That, you know, we as The Sex at Dawn At the dawn of humankind
Were a little bit like bonobos Or common chimps Now common chimps are very selfish And violent
And, yeah, we're somewhere In between, perhaps And we have qualities That are very bonobo-like
We can be very loving I mean, you guys have all this Compersion and joy in each other's Joy
There's selfishness You know, I don't think he says That humans aren't selfish He just says we don't have to be
As selfish That private property and war And a lot of things That are part of civilization
For humans kind of Egg on our selfishness And an awareness of our origins Which may have been quite
Polyamorous Doesn't necessarily say That that's how we have to be now It just says let's be a little
Understanding of our, you know, Difficulties with conventional marriage You had referred to sex at dusk Which I don't know
I couldn't even get through But it does have a lot of good science But it just doesn't It actually doesn't even disagree with sex at dawn
It just kind of mis-represents it As saying that they're trying to say Everybody should be polyamorous And they're really not saying that at all
They're saying we just should be aware That perhaps our bodies were designed If you can say designed But our bodies evolved to appreciate
A more expansive view of sex A view that you guys seem to take A view that we take That that is perhaps a little more natural
Than just closed off, you know, Unisexual monogamy I really think that I'm a genetic failure I'm not going to reproduce
In anything regarding my genes Is quite irrelevant My genes are self-destructing I will die, I will not procreate in any way
Good for you, because the earth has too many people And so once you start Not enough bonobos, though We need more bonobos and fewer people
Really, so I think it's great And I think that's very unselfish Even though most people interpret that as selfish I agree with them, it's selfish
I love myself a lot You just maybe acknowledge That you enjoy having a good time And that you wouldn't do justice to kids
A lot of people who enjoy having a good time Still have kids anyway And then the kids get neglected And great for them
I don't see that as selfish You know, it's really wonderful In my business, which is this business here That we brought up
A couple of generations of kids And those are all my kids Kids that I've changed their lives And touched them deeply
From when they were little kids Watching this wonderful show here With Dr. Susie Genetics is only one aspect of life
And there is also memes I mean, there's genes and there's memes And when we put out these philosophies And these images and these sounds
We are reproducing We are having sex with our audience We are being sexual And yeah, you're not leaving little copies of you
Which aren't really copies anyway And there's a very good bit By a comedian named Doug Stanhope Who I love
Where he says that So you probably know the bit Where he says that the people who are Supposed to environmentalists
And they drive around with pre-assists But they have babies He says you can drive to and from work In a fleet of hummers
And fart out the window for the rest of your life And you wouldn't do as much damage to the planet As having one fucking baby And all those diapers
Which aren't even diapers Humans are the biggest polluters One human Nothing against all the babies out there
Which are so cute and we love you I need you all to have more babies So that you can take care of me when I'm too old Yeah, there you go
Henry Miller said you should Cook them in axle grease I wanted to touch on something that you said I agree with him
Yeah I'm not... I don't prescribe to the whole idea That humanity is supposed to do anything
There are plenty of things that we used to do Thousands of years ago That we don't anymore Exactly
And there are a lot of polyamorous people out there Who say that everyone is supposed to be polyamorous And anyone who's monogamous is being duped And is being cheated out of
What they're supposed to be doing in life To those people I say calm down And let other people do what they want to do Absolutely
If people want to be monogamous Fine, be monogamous If people want to be polyamorous Awesome, be polyamorous
If people want to be vegans I don't agree with it I'm never gonna be vegan But you go ahead and be vegan
You know, we're not... We weren't driving cars thousands of years ago We weren't living in brick and wood establishments Thousands of years ago
Things change And we're doing things differently Than the way we used to do them Thousands of years ago
And being polyamorous or being monogamous Are two of those things I don't know which one we were doing I don't know which one we were supposed to be doing
But you know what? It doesn't matter Well, I think what does matter though I have to say
Is just learning about our origins And just acknowledging that These are our origins Or as we discover the science more and more
We learn more about our origins That doesn't mean we have to be the same way It just means getting a little more understanding Of who we are
And saving the bonobos Because they show us Who we may have been in those old days Any form of self-righteousness is wrong
It doesn't matter which side you're on If you claim your view... I don't know, I get sort of self-righteous About bombing and beheading and stuff like that
Yeah, but any... Because she mentioned the fact that There's a lot of things that we do now That we can do a thousand years ago
There are things that we now understand is wrong That 50 years ago or 100 years ago Everybody would swear by their mom That it was the right thing to do
Like marrying 14-year-old girls Or intermarriage Or slavery Or gay...
Or homosexuality Or anything that was the majority opinion That it was wrong And now people have come around and changed it
Self-righteousness is never a good thing It's divisive And it makes people unable To understand the other side
Unable to understand other people's feelings Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah But I still think that Education is almost always good
I think you need to have an understanding That we're all different It's not tolerance It's respect for the ideal
That we are humans and humanity And we should not be casting any stones at anyone Including other animals We are humans
But we are animals We are apes And we can learn from our fellow apes About who we are
And it doesn't mean we have to act like apes Or swing through the trees Or even with each other It just means understanding where we come from
Because I don't know I think part of the thing that's destroying the earth Is that we think we're special That we think we're different than the other animals
And the plants And the rest of this earth that we're on And we're kind of different Like everybody's different
But we're kind of related And anyway Nobody special except me I just had to defend my friend
And also, you know Someone I admire a lot And I love Sex at Dawn, of course So anyway, we can agree to disagree
But you're wrong Okay Anyway What else?
