Video 20131214 Taboo
As a sex therapist, I hear from many clients with mother issues. Occasionally, some sort of literal sex is involved, though much more often, it’s “emotional incest,” with any and all sex taking place only in theerotic theaterof their minds. Common as it is, being a “mother lover” or “mom fetishist” can be a lonely, shame-laced life. Some may find validation for their desires in Freud’s infamous “Oedipus complex,” while mythology buffs may note that the Greek goddess Aphrodite and her son Eros were lovers. But by far the most frequent cultural reference made is to the 1980 adult feature film TABOO (the first of the series), in which a suburban American mother seduces her older teenage son. More specifically, these clients are enthralled, sometimes to the point of obsession, with the performance of the actress who plays that mother, the sensuous, soulful and eternally maternal Aphrodite of porn’s Golden Age: Kay Parker.
